Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
A QCD, or Required Minimum Distribution is a taxable distribution from an IRA owned by an individual who is age 70½ or over that is paid directly from the IRA to a qualified charity.

Adopt a Family Shelter Room:
Make a Difference, One Family at a Time
At Family Promise of Greater Washington County, we offer individuals, families, community groups, and businesses the opportunity to sponsor a room in our Beaverton and Hillsboro House Shelters through our Adopt-a-Room program. Sponsorships are for a one-year term and provide essential financial support as well as comfort, dignity, and hope for families on their journey out of homelessness.
This year, we are especially excited to share the progress of our Hillsboro House renovation. With families scheduled to move in early December, we are seeking sponsors to help us finish the rooms in time for the holidays, creating a warm and welcoming home for families to celebrate the season.
How the Program Works
By sponsoring a room, you’re creating a welcoming environment for families as they rebuild their lives. A $1,000 annual sponsorship directly offsets the costs of meals, utilities, and the vital services we provide.
As a sponsor, you’ll also have the chance to:
